Monday Blues

Happy Monday. Man, for anyone living in the GTA, there was quite the fog out there this morning! I tried to snap a few quick photos on my phone but they didn't turn out so great. I guess that's because we're finally getting some normal July weather this week! It's supposed to feel like 35 degrees today with the humidity and is relatively supposed to stay around the 30 mark all week (so they say).

So I spent all of Saturday afternoon finishing Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I just couldn't put it down! And while I was just looking it up online, I saw there was indeed the movie for it. I knew there had to be! So I wouldn't mind watching it now. In the meantime while I'm waiting to read the second book Something Blue, I'm reading the popular The Fault in Our Stars book by John Green. My sister's had it for a couple of years now and always told me to read it. So I guess now that it's the "in" thing, I wanna give it a whirl. I haven't seen the movie yet but will probably wanna see it once I'm done the book (and maybe when it's on DVD).

It was a rainy one on Saturday (it actually was for most of the weekend) but I trucked it out and went downtown to meet some friends for Summerlicious 2014. Before hand, I went to my friend Ross' place to meet up for a bit. He just got a nice little place downtown renting out a basement. It's the perfect little bachelor pad for him. I always love the walk there too because it's a nice quiet little street and sometimes you forget you're downtown. I wanted to take some pictures but it was pouring rain then and my hands were succumbed to an umbrella and Tim Hortons coffee at the time. Here's an image from Google Maps Street View:

 Not bad, huh?

Summerlicious was delish! We went to a place called Bryzantium where we all stuffed our faces with the usual 3-option meal offered. It was a bit more on the expensive side (definitely more than $25!) but not like we splurge like that all the time and it was Summerlicious after all (not to mention, mouthwatering food!). I was basically in a food coma afterwards and after heading home to watch some episodes of The City (I only enjoyed Season 1, Part 1!) I was out like a light bulb.

Sunday morning was more or less another relaxing day (isn't that what Sundays are for?) I didn't have to work my part-time job that day so I saw the boyfriend, Brian for a bit in the early afternoon before he headed off to work. I spent the evening reading a bit more, catching up with my friend on the phone (listening and feeling jealous about her latest Cuba trip!) and after an attempted workout and more episodes of The City, it was bedtime with another one of my cats, Ringa:

(this picture was from a couple of years ago but yes, that's her in an empty Pepsi box).

I was saddened to hear about the death of James Garner yesterday! Even though I'm from the later of his generation, I loved his roles in - obviously - The Notebook and 8 Simple Rules, helping to replace John Ritter after his passing on the show (didn't know you could get the show on DVD, I might just have to order them now!)

RIP James Garner - 1928-2014

Anywho, back to the grind of the work-week. Stay caffeinated everyone!
