Christmas definitely felt like it was in the air this weekend! I think in the past I would've argued that it's too early to get ready for Christmas. But the older I get, the faster time flies! Aka I've learned that the sooner you can prep for the holidays, the better!
Brian and I had a really nice weekend together. On Saturday, went over to a friend's apartment for some drinks. I got so excited just seeing the Christmas decorations!: (that is The Dark Knight on tv, lol)
How lovely is this? In fact, the more I go to my friends' apartments, the more it makes me want my own place. Living at home with my parents definitely has its benefits in the meantime, but I am absolutely itching for my own independence!
Like she did for fall, Elisa took a dollar store wreath apart to make this simple yet beautiful arrangement:
Lol, according to Brian, no Christmas season is complete without watching Die Hard. As he would say, "it's the best Christmas movie of all time!" (I beg to differ, but I have to admit, he has gotten me into enjoying the movie during the holiday season):
Yesterday, we headed downtown in the flurries and cold weather to catch Toronto's 110th Santa Claus Parade!:
Some of the cast of Corner Gas was there on their own float:
Trying to keep warm as we wait for Santa!
And there he was!:
After the parade, we took cover for warmth and made our way to the Eaton's Centre. They don't have the Christmas tree out just yet, but they did have some beautiful reindeer light-displays going on!:
Outside at night was even more beautiful (and we know it's only gonna get better!):
Brian and I can't wait to spend an evening downtown one night in December when everything is fully lit up and covered in snow. I see the sight every year but it always takes my breath away!
It looks like when Santa came to town, he brought along the North Pole with him too. This morning when I woke up, a beautiful white blanket covered the backyard:
To be honest, I'm not all that ready for winter again just yet. From the brutal winter we had last year, it honestly feels like it hasn't even left! But all I can do in the meantime is get ready for the holidays which always helps lighten the mood (sometimes...if you're not stuck in a busy mall of crazy, last minute shoppers!)
Stay caffeinated on this cold Monday, everyone! :)
