Happy June, everyone! Where has the time gone? June is already half way through the year and the official start of summer (even though these past few days have gone back to being cold and rainy in Canada-land). Like May though, I quite love the month of June and am looking forward to all the fun activities coming up.
1.) Driving by myself. Mission accomplished! It took my mom a while to get comfortable (even now, she still has a hard time if it's late or raining outside) but I can finally say I've driven by myself many times before now. Mind you, I don't drive super far or have anywhere on the extreme outskirts to go, but just some small things like running errands at the plaza or driving home after Brian's house are a big start for me.
2.) Trying Yoga. Boo-yeah! My sister and I finally did yoga for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we haven't found the time to go back, but I have a feeling once the summer months start rolling around again, I'm going to start going back for a few more classes. It's amazing how relaxed you feel afterwards!
3.) Healthier Food Choices. As I wrote six months ago, the older I'm getting, the more my body craves healthy and fresh foods as opposed to constant fried or fast foods I found myself getting away with a few years ago. It's almost like I don't have a say in this area any more! Not that I'm complaining though: not only are they better food choices but I physically feel better afterwards.
4.) Less Coffee, More Tea. I can happily say thanks to my new tea kettle from my birthday this year, I've noticeably been drinking less coffee during the day and more green tea at night. There's nothing I love more than an espresso first thing in the morning, but it was to the point where I'd have coffee all day just out of habit. This little tea kettle makes it so much more easy and tempting to relax with a warm cup at night (and appreciate my coffee even more in the mornings!)
5.) Procrastinate Less. Haha, hard for me to say? Where do you draw the line between procrastination and down right just taking it easy? I'd say I'm somewhere in between. I think it's just part of my personality and I may always be that way.
6.) Living Your Life, Not Someone Else’s. It's actually interesting looking back six months ago that this was a goal of mine for 2015. I guess it can only mean that I've been managing this part of my life a-okay; these days, people like my family usually leave me alone with things (unlike a couple of years ago!) and overall, I feel more content with the way things are in my life.
7.)Angry Less. Haha again, this is something else that looking back on makes me laugh a bit. Do I really scream that angry of a person? Maybe since it's no longer the dead of winter and going out and doing things is more pleasant has put me more at ease with things. So I will say "check" on this one, too.
And that's it! Overall, I think it's safe to say that I've been living out my "goals" for 2015 pretty well so far and I'm feeling quite content with the way things have been going. Not too bad, eh?
How was everyone's weekend? Hope you're having a lovely Monday! (as good as it can get, right? ;) )
