Last Saturday, my sister and I spent an exciting evening seeing Ed Sheeran in concert!
To be honest, I wasn't all too familiar with a lot of his songs (though many of them, I did recognize). My sister has both his CDs and saw him in concert last September where she was blown away by his performance, and she wasn't the only one I heard from who said his live shows were astounding. Before the concert I gave his albums a go, particularly the second one (I love "Sing" and "Thinking Aloud"!)
I'd seen Ed perform on TV and his interviews and I really enjoyed his charisma and charm - it was clear the guy had talent - so I was happy to come along to a concert.
I'm telling you now: Ed does not disappoint! The best concert I'd ever been to was Paul McCartney - and Ed Sheeran was right up there. This guy is absolutely amazing live.
He plays entirely by himself with no band behind him; the whole thing is done through a loop pedal. I'd never seen anything like it. Everything from the quality of the sound to his incredible and strong voice (which I don't believe is heard enough on his albums) was pretty unbelievable.
Here's a few videos I uploaded (once again, my sincere apologies for the poor quality! I have a horrible camera-phone that is quite out of date. If you'd like to see some much better videos from the night, check out my friend Amber's Instagram. She sat in the same section as us and has beautiful, higher quality vids).
I love this just because you can hear him talking with the cool accent and of course, his beautiful voice.
Thinking Out Loud
His encore finale - Sing! So much fun.
Andrea and I only assumed the CN Tower that night after the show was showing its love for Ed:
Ed Sheeran is definitely the definition of talent! If you were ever thinking about going to see him in concert, I strongly suggest it: you will not be disappointed! We saw many couples there too and it was obvious that the boyfriends who might have been hesitant about going to an Ed Sheeran concert at first had a complete turn-around by the end of the show (the guy in front of us even got up and applauded with an astounded look on his face after "Thinking Aloud;" it was quite funny).
He's back in Toronto this following September! We might just have to get our hands on some tickets ;)
