It's Friday once again! But we had Wednesday off for Canada Day and another two days of work - and now we're back to our (regular!) weekend. And I'm so happy to hear that sunshine is in the forecast!
Finally, the Sun
After our rain non-stop last weekend, I was desperately craving some sun, fresh air, and a beer. After work on Tuesday, my sister and I met our friend Ross downtown for a few pints and an evening out on the patio.
It was well deserved! And great to see Ross again: it always makes for interesting conversation and me resulting into a fit of giggles by the end.
The Travelling Notebook
I'm so proud to be a part of this little project that is travelling the globe: The Sisterhood of the Travelling Notebook! I guess you can say it happened through a friend, of a friend (through a friend - and another) and I wanted to sign up and be a part of this wonderful venture.
It's about women supporting one another by writing our thoughts, experiences and maybe even sharing a fun story. Some ladies included really nice photos of themselves posed with the book or sketched a little doodle at the end of their page.
So far, it's been to various places in the U.S., went to Poland and Norway! - back to the States - and now it's Canada-land; me :D This book is more well travelled than myself! I'm so excited to contribute to this amazing project started by a friend and can't wait to pass it on to the next lady.
Canada Day & the (Winning!) Blue Jays
For a second year in a row, we spent Canada Day at the Blue Jays game. I love Canada Day at the Rogers Centre - singing our national anthem, a good day of baseball, and folding out the ginourmous Canadian flag that takes up a good chunk of the field!
Right before the first pitch, the Dome roof started to open. I was super excited! This meant no rain was called in the forecast (despite the heavy, grey clouds). The ballgame is always much more enjoyable when the roof is open for the day.
Even the sun managed to peak through at times!
Halfway through the game and we walked down to the main floor to stretch our legs and just get a different view of the game.
It was a sold out game that day!
The game ended with an 11-2 win for us against the Boston Red Sox! A truly spectacular one for Canada's birthday!
We splurged on some hot-dogs after:
And before it got dark, we all walked over to a nearby park and tossed around a football and a frisbee. It reminded me of being a kid again! I loved it, and it was such a nice change of pace of things.
Since I couldn't stay up too late to watch fireworks, I was happy to spot some shooting off in a park by my house. It never does feel like Canada Day unless you see some sparklers going off!
This weekend, we're headed off on a little mini road trip - stay tuned for those updates!
What will you be up to this weekend? I hope you have a lovely one! :D
