Happy sunny, breezy Friday friends! It's supposed to be another beautiful weekend coming up and I can hardly wait. Who else loves summer? Can I get a woot-woot? Here are this week's Happy Friday!
I wanted to write a post solely dedicated to the event because I think it's such a neat idea; it adds such great diversity and culture to the city.
Plus it made for strolling around the city with my friends after such a great excuse.
It's actually been a while since I spent some good, quality time with both these groups and it felt great to catch up!
After eating out at Bloom, we walked around the area for a bit and came across one of the pharmacy stores. As you can probably tell, this used to be an old movie theatre!
It was once a book store as well (which I loved) before they changed it to this. It still looks pretty fabulous!
Later at night, I had a few friends over for some drinks and a good time. Again - it had been a while since I had a summer get-together like this one! (back in the day, I used to have tons). We were having such a good time that I didn't take any pictures that night, but luckily my friend Somya quickly captured this moment before sending it as a Snapchat.
It was the very hot weekend so in between hanging out in the backyard, we made many runs inside and drank all the water bottles available.
After the extremely hot one last weekend, the weather got simply beautiful so I spent a lot of time outside. On my lunch breaks, I headed outside into the beautiful breezes and would relax in a lawn chair after a long work day.
But of course, no nice day is complete without taking the cats outside.
It's Cartney's favourite hobby, after all.
Ringa gets to go out during the day so in the evenings, she relaxes and takes a window seat.
I love the lush green of everything during this time of year.
I always look forward to these shrubs coming in every summer.
And the breezy sway of the trees.
Dainty little white flowers :)
And just look how the little garden is coming along!
Nothing beats fresh cherry tomatoes. I can hardly wait till these guys are ripe enough to eat!
I've even been taking some peaceful evening walks. I feel great getting the exercise and walking always helps clear and calm the mind.
Movie Night: Inside Out
Earlier this week, Brian and I along with a few other friends went and watched Inside Out - and loved it! It's been a long time since I've seen a Pixar movie I really, really enjoyed - and this one took the cake. I highly recommend it (don't let the fact that it's a cartoon mislead you!). You'll laugh, you'll cry: you'll live out your inner child!
Night at the Museum
Earlier this week, I visited the ROM - the Royal Ontario Museum!
I took so many photos that I'll be sharing a separate post for this one on the blog next week.
The Search for a New Phone Case
I'm currently in the process of looking for a new phone case. The pink one I have now is ripping and the magnet (to seal it) no longer works (which was my fault!). I wrote just over a year ago about it, along with the other phones I've had throughout the years. I've been searching around online, and I'm thinking of ordering this one:
I'm in love with the teal colour and I love that this case gives you the option to put a chain through it, so that you can carry it like a wallet-clutch. What do you guys think? (For the record: I currently have an HTC Desire 601 Android).
Wrap-Up: Burger Cakes
I was at the grocery store the other night and couldn't resist getting a shot of this: a hamburger cake! How creative.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)
