Recently, I added a new tab to the blog: Seasonal Décor, and realized I didn't have any decoration shown for the summer time. That's because we don't really put up a whole lotta stuff for those hot days, but there are a few things we add here and there.
On my door, I add a summery sunflower wreath I got from the dollar store.
I love how the white petals stand out against the brown wood.
On my shabby table, I arrange some artificial flowers in blues and light pinks to brighten the place up.
My mom normally adds wreaths to to our front doors too, but this year she kept it low-key and just put one over our garage.
Our front porch screams summer with a traditional watering can, pot of fresh flowers, and a small chair for some outside evening reads.
Recently, we added this little table too. It's perfect for holding my phone in place and having a nice cool drink.
We keep plenty of potters around.
Within the last few years, our front porch has had this massive shrub of plants and some flowers. It makes for a nice, welcoming entry.
My mom added this cute fountain statue from our grandmother. As you can see though, the little girl is suffering a torn leg.
I know I've posted pictures many times before, but I can't get enough of our backyard in the summer time. It's lush green and so inviting-looking!
Our friends love to pull up a seat on these foldable lawn chairs or our swing.
The picnic table is accommodating too, with the umbrella for shade and a sunflower ash tray for company.
Don't forget our "little" garden (which is growing quickly!)
And after every Mother's Day, my mom loves to put two planters on each side of the back door. They stay there all through the summer, getting lots of water and sunshine.
As well as this little statue of the character, Holly Hobbie that makes an appearance every spring and summer.
Inside, our living room more or less stays the same - there is just a noticeable difference of lots of bright light.
With spring and summer candles on display.
As well as our kitchen:
Nice and bright!
Updated: My mom added this summery towel cloth hanging at the front of our stove. Normally, we just have plain-coloured ones but I love this one! It really adds to that summertime-feel.
