Happy sunny Friday! Thank you to everyone regarding the new name change for the blog this week! It's really great hearing reading everyone's thoughts and words of support, and really motivates me to keep going. I'm still playing around with colours and images for the main header (I know the majority of people liked the maroon better!) and I can't wait to see how it all comes together in the end.
This week's Happy Friday post will be kept fairly brief, sharing my Uncle Mario's 50th birthday celebrations we had over the weekend.
My Aunt Mary always does a fabulous job hosting parties. She takes pride in making sure guests are accommodated for, the food is looked after, and plenty of photographs are taken (she's literally one of those who walks around during the party, with a camera tied around her neck and is big on taking "candid moments"). I knew for my Uncle Mario's 50th, she would have something impressive planned.
With the weather's blessings, a beautiful backyard party was hosted - catered food included!
That's Uncle Mario - the one in the bright blue tee, telling tall tales.
My aunt and uncle had to borrow some extra patio furniture from the neighbours to accommodate all the guests. It really came together well!
This party had everything from dogs:
And a new kitten!
This sweet, curly-haired guy right here is our cousin, Bobby. In just a few weeks, he'll be a year old!
How adorable is that hat! He really had a great time playing with the "50" balloons.
These hats are clearly the fashion statement of precious babies and toddlers everywhere.
Meet Uncle Mario's new kitten, Echo: a loveable, grey tabby.
One of the neighbour's daughters really took a liking to this little guy.
Two peas in the cutest pod.
Before we knew it, it was time for some yummy coffee.
And delicious birthday cake!
It was a little breezy out that day, so lit candles weren't exactly agreeing with the theme. Aunt Mary called all the younger kids to come blow out the "non-candles:"
With work and life, it can be so hard these days to make time for family that when we do see get around to seeing everyone again, it makes it that much more special. This was Aunt Mary's side of the family:
And our side. Though, I'm the only one there from my actual family! (My sister had to work and my parents were actually up at a cottage for the long weekend celebrating another birthday).
I still can't tell whether my eyes are closed or not in this one!
We had such great weather, loving company, and an overall nice birthday afternoon for our Uncle Mario. I'm looking forward to those "candid moments" my aunt managed to capture!
I hope you all have a nice, summer weekend!
