This past Labour Day long weekend, I spent most of my time at Brian's house by his pool. Not only was it his first long weekend off in forever! but what better set-up than to sit by a poolside when there was a heat-wave going on in Toronto?
Every morning, I basically rushed out the door to his place so I could soak up the last bits of summer - only to realize that a few hours later, I was completely starving because I had forgotten to eat! It was well past lunch time and a little too early for dinner, so I needed a pick-me-up, mid afternoon snack. The good boyfriend that he is, Brian whipped up a simple cheese and kielbasa grilled sandwich.
A little bit more of a kick to it than regular grilled cheese!
You'll need: - Sliced bread - Cheese (whichever kind you'd like!) - Kielbasa sausage - Butter
This simple yet delectable snack is extremely easy to prepare. Brian just sliced up a few pieces of cheese and kielbasa:
And melted the butter over the stove-top before adding the sandwich to heat up.
Like grilled cheese, flip the sandwich on either side and 5 minutes later - voilà!
Topped off with some raspberry lemonade, and you've got a tasty, simple afternoon snack!
