Room Fall Décor 2015

Happy Fall everyone!! It's finally here: the cozy season of all things Autumn and Harvest. Over the last few years, Fall has become one of my more favourite seasons: I love the crisper temperatures outside, the layered clothing and warm colours, the sight of orange and red leaves, and any excuse for warm drinks - like additional coffee and of course, pumpkin spiced lattes. I could go on! I wish I could say I was out and about enjoying this beautiful day, but I've recently caught a cold and felt so run down. I'm taking a sick day and in the meantime, I decided to share with you some of the fall decoration I put up in my room.

I was looking at my fall décor photos from last year and almost felt embarrassed as I was scanning through them - I definitely went overboard and as a result, my room looked much too cluttered. It's funny how in just a year, you can suddenly look at things in a slightly different way. My room normally has a lot of knick-knacks in it already so this year, I did my best to keep things a bit more subtle.

I bought myself a new Fall wreath from the dollar store:

I kept the fall garland around my bulletin board and slightly updated the faux flowers (I used good ol' picmonkey.com to brighten up a few of these photos):

This year, I found some orange burlap sunflowers (which screamed Autumn!) and added some hints of golden yellow flowers to stand out from the more subdued colours.

And dug out my favourite Bath and Body Works scents: Pumpkin Pecan Waffle handcream, Autumn and Pumpkin Carmel Latte mini candles, and this year, I bought myself their newest candle, Pumpkin Pie; you can bet it smells amazing!

I bought this little artificial pumpkin / floral arrangement from the dollar store last year. It took a spot on top of the TV.

And on my dresser, I placed a burlap floral arrangement beside my mirror and added a single faux leaf on top for a pop of colour.

From my closet, hangs a scarecrow:

I also changed up the bed linens slightly! Like last year, I added my second Fall garland to my beach painting:

I found the brown curricular pillow buried away in my mom's room. I thought it stood out nicely at the head of the bed.

I wasn't exactly looking for an orange throw blanket but I spotted it for only $3 at the dollar store! Can't go wrong! I've also been on the hunt for a Fall decorative pillow but haven't been able to find one I like for a decent price. In the meantime, I covered up the palm tree pillow with a plain brown pillow cover.

There were some beautiful Fall pillows at Pottery Barn I loved:

But they were almost $100 each - no thanks!

I came across my artificial pumpkins and pine cones I also got last year. I may end up scattering a few pumpkins around my room in time.

I also went a bit nuts and last week, got myself some pumpkin spiced flavouring from Starbucks for my morning coffee, as well as pumpkin spiced pancakes! I found those on a whim from Winners and am just waiting for the perfect Fall Sunday mornings to whip these things up.

The pumpkin spice latte flavouring came in a package that reminded me of those childhood candies I used to have called Pixy Stix.

Digging through our cupboards and I found an extra sugar jar that would be perfect for holding the pumpkin spice:

But I've really been on the lookout for a pumpkin candy dish like Amanda got a few years ago from Walmart:

I've been looking everywhere and haven't been able to find something that seems so simple! I love that she added some caramel candies to hers:

If I ever find myself one, I'll be adding my favourite Fall treats, candy pumpkin:

But I did manage to find this cute Fall mug from Homesense!

Even though I'm under the weather, I couldn't resist adding a dash of pumpkin spice to my coffee this morning to honour the first day of this beautiful season.

Happy Harvest to you all! :)
