I love going to my cousins' house. They're just a 5 minute drive from our house or a really nice 20 minute walk (what a difference, huh?) When they were youngins and I was a high school student, I spent many evenings and even Saturday nights babysitting them. It was my first "real job" and I loved it. Not only was it a great excuse to hang out with my cousins I love so much, but I always felt completely comfortable and at ease in my aunt and uncle's house. They've made it so pleasant and inviting that I can't help but feeling so at home in it. I'm definitely taking notes!
As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by their beautiful living room. All the soft neutral colours really make for a relaxing environment.
Many Christmas Eves and birthdays are spent at the dining room table. My aunt always has yummy appetizers and her speciality, melted brie cheese to entice her guests.
The upstairs hallway, with always clean hardwood floors.
The cute little kitchen. Where I will always remember that one time I somehow managed to burn the microwavable popcorn.
The basement reminds me of a cozy little apartment. I'd kill to live in something like this right now!
The downstairs little office part. I remember many a nights when the kids were off to bed and I'd hurry on here so I could chat with my friends on MSN Messenger.
The snug downstairs living room, where we spent most of our time watching TV shows, movies and playing board games. I love the electric little fire place! I actually remember sleeping over here one night on the pull-out couch and waking up feeling so relaxed. It felt like my very own place!
Off in the corner of the basement is my uncle's office where he keeps a ton of sports memorabilia. I had to get a picture of this epic Blue Jays moment he had.
My cousin Christina is a talented artist (it must run in the family?) I love her workspace, where she has framed some of her own work and boxes and drawers of endless art supplies.
Even their little bathroom is so quaint! It reminds me of the rest rooms from our trip to Florida; I love the marble floors.
I hope you're all having a nice Monday! (I'm cold, sleepy and can't wait till my next break to get a coffee!) ;)
