Happy December 1st, everyone! You may have noticed I gave the blog a bit of a "Christmas lift" to it this morning. I created the snow-themed header with a great website called 1001freefonts.com and used PicMonkey to help with the clip art. Even though it's raining here in Toronto today, the blog definitely gives me a bit more of that "Christmas-feel" and I can't wait until the month continues to go on!
Here are some things I'm looking forward to this holiday month!
1) Christmas Movies
How many of you love cuddling up on a cold's winter night with the Christmas lights strung along, a hot cup of cocoa (or wine?) and a classic Christmas movie?
It's one of my favourite things about the holidays! I have a small list of my favourite Christmas movies lined up (that I'm sure I'll be sharing with you soon!). Forever a favourite though will always be Home Alone (I've already watched it twice this year!)
There's just something so comforting about holiday baking during Christmas time. Maybe because I love mint chocolate so much? You get to be as creative as you want, and they make great gifts for people or to bring to a Christmas party. I've always had trouble getting the kitchen in my own home, but I may "luck out" this year. A number one recipe I've always wanted to try is peppermint bark.
3) Holiday Get-Togethers
Friends, family, co-workers: the works! Get everyone together for a fun-filled, festive party and make those memories!
4) The Christmas Market
Toronto has gotten into a great tradition of holding a historic Christmas Market every year at their memorable Distillery District. It's a fun evening filled with beautiful sights, little Christmas shops, and the mulled wine - is a must!
I think it's pretty evident by now that I love to decorate for any occasion and Christmas time is certainly no exception. Every year, I always place a little tree in my room, add some tinsel and light a sweet scented candle for added atmosphere.
6) Christmas Specials
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'll probably write a little blog post on my favourite Christmas TV Specials, too. There's quite I few I love and insist on watching every year, even if I've already seen them a million times over.
7) Michael Bublé Christmas album
I got this album as part of a Secret Santa gift last year, and it's easily become one of my favourite Christmas albums. Now that it's December, I gotta make a mental note to keep it by the front door so I know to take it out to the car.
What are some things you're most excited about this December?
