For the past few weekends, Brian and I have spending our days down at my parents' lake shore house. It's a beautiful little house located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood with the lake just down the street, and some nearby pubs, schools and even a library just up the main strip. When we go down there, we cook, go for walks and catch up on lots of DVDs (specifically Friends!) My parents are finally selling this quaint spot in the spring time but until then, they have generously let Brian and I use it as our own little home whenever we want. We know how great of an opportunity this is and have been taking advantage any chance we can get. For this post, I wanted to share with you some lovely photos of the place I hope you'll enjoy :)
The living room is, of course, nice and cozy with a working TV and a comfy futon that converts into a bed.
We spend most of our time here, usually watching a movie on Friday night while eating dinner and having a drink.
The main floor is now fully refurnished with a beautiful open-room concept.
I absolutely love it, especially with all the windows letting in lots of natural light.
Brian gets a lot of cooking done here, and every morning I'd make myself some espresso on the stove top.
The back deck:
And a cute front porch. I added the winter wreath as my own personal touch ;)
Brian's been such a good sport, and every weekend loves preparing something for us to eat at dinner.
One night we had steak, mashed potatoes and caesar salad.
Another night, Brian cooked some yummy salmon for the first time.
And of course, he knows how much I love my beef tacos.
During the afternoons, weather permitted, we love taking walks around the neighbourhood and going down by the lake. It's so incredibly peaceful and a nice change of pace of things.
There's also a lovely view of the city skyline in the distance. We like taking a seat on a nearby bench and just taking in the serenity of it all.
Our time at the lake shore house is always so relaxing and peaceful. We intend to use any opportunity we can to make the most of it.
Hope you've had a lovely weekend!
