Happy Friday: Anticipating Spring & St. Paddy's Plans

Happy Friday, friends! I hope you all have had a lovely week. Today is proving to be a little cooler in Ontario - but we finally have some sun in there. I can't wait for the weekend!

My postings have been a little scarce this week, and I do apologize! It's just been one of those weeks. One thing that has perked my spirits up a bit is our household starting to get ready for some St. Paddy's Day fun:

Our front door looked pretty much identical as last year. My mom likes to keep good traditions alive!

We tend to put our decorations up little by little, so you can expect some more green flair to show up for next week. Like we did for Christmas and Valentine's Day, we also wanna put up a shamrock or two down at the Lake Shore House.

It gives me an excuse to start thinking of a treat recipe too. Last year, I just baked a simple cake and shaded the frosting with green food colouring. Lucky Charm marshmallows were the finishing touch! I also tried to make a Green Monster Smoothie recipe from Amanda's blog:

Let's just say I added way too much mint extract flavour and it tasted more like toothpaste. It had good potential though! (Maybe I'll try it again?)

We're also looking forward to the Toronto St. Patrick's Day Parade again!

Brian and I went last year and really enjoyed ourselves. We had a beautiful sunny day and went for a late lunch afterwards (I'm only realizing now I forgot to blog about it; I took a bunch of pictures!)

With having some time off for spring break, I'm looking forward to catching up on some sleep (I could probably do with less of it to be honest..), enjoying some spring weather to come, and slowly preparing for our upcoming trip.

Wishing you all a wonderful Friday and an even better weekend to come!

Any upcoming plans?
