At the starting of the spring season, I decided to give my blog a bit of a "spring lift" I called it. I changed the template from the Sundance Theme (which I loved!) to this current one: the Sela Theme. What I liked about this theme was three different colour schemes were offered with the free version: blue, purple and pink. Naturally, I went with the pink. Not only was a sidebar offered, but a "bottom bar" or, a widget footer, was optional with the theme too. I decided to use the bottom bar for posts that are in correspondence with the current time of year (ie. You will notice all my bottom bar posts feature themes of spring). While I'm happy with the overall layout and style of the blog, I can't help thinking and getting excited over some changes I hope to make in the next little bit!
I've been consistently posting for almost two straight years now, and during this time, I've been using the Free Wordpress Themes. However - my storage capacity is just about up! In the next little bit, I'll have to upgrade to a Premium Package and once again, purchase my own domain. That means - the 'wordpress' in my URL will soon be gone and I'll have a whole wide range of blog layouts to choose from! From the beginning, I was always influenced by the original Small Home Big Start (now Life at Cloverhill):
From the moment I stumbled upon this blog, I was in love with the layout and colour scheme. It's no surprise that my own blog mimics Amanda's a little bit. Amanda used this layout from angiemakes.com. She has such beautiful templates in her shop, I always find myself going back and scrolling through a bunch. Admittedly, it's a bit on the pricey side, but you'll definitely get a bang for your buck.
New Profile Picture
I'm one of the worst people for taking selfies of myself, or just getting photos of myself in general. I seem to always get better results when I'm posed with other people. For blog purposes. I know how important it is to have a good profile picture to welcome your readers with, and I have continuously struggled with this one! My goal for this year is to get a nice, natural shot of myself, preferably in the outdoors, and maybe have one of my cats by my side.
The Axon, ZTE
Two months ago, I mentioned how I was getting a new phone to bring with us on our trip to Florida. I wanted something with a better camera quality. I thought I had scored something with a decent price range, but as I've been fiddling around with the camera more, I've been noticing just how dull and even blurry a lot of the low-light shots have turned out. Can't I ever catch a break?? I may need to consider an alternative if I want better quality blog photos for the future.
