Victoria Day long weekend proved to be absolutely beautiful weather here in Canada. As a kid, I always held sweet memories of this first, unofficial kick-off weekend of summer: warm temperatures, barbecues, spending lots of time outside and of course, watching the fireworks at night. It almost felt like the good ol' days!
This weekend was very similar, added with the mix of having a beer on the patio out back. I spent a lot of time just relaxing in our backyard with the radio on and soaking in lots of vitamin D.
My dad can finally get his little garden going as well!
After a relaxing, cozy evening on Friday night, we headed out on the Saturday night to celebrate our friend Arica's birthday.
Arica picked a very snug pub just by Union Station called C'est What.
I think she had a good birthday!
Our days at the Lake Shore house are slowly becoming limited; a long weekend just wouldn't be complete without swinging by there for a night with some friends.
These pictures really don't do it justice :) - but we spent a nice Sunday night with our friends Cristina, Ted and Julia making some dinner, playing board games and we even caught some fireworks around the neighbourhood that night.
^ We were listening to the Beatles late at night - that was supposed to say 'Except For Me and My Monkey.'
The next morning - Victoria Day Monday - was even more beautiful with lots and lots of sunshine.
It felt so refreshing to take a walk by the lake and not be freezing our buns off :)
The driveway at the back of the Lake Shore house is a little tight...it was hilarious watching Cristina back out as Julia directed over like air traffic control!
It's too bad every weekend can't be a long one!
