Brrr! There's a definite fall chill here in the air! Only a few days ago, we practically had 30 degree weather and then temperatures just dropped to seasonal-like conditions. I guess it had to happen sometime. It may look bright and sunny outside but even now, I can see plants and trees swaying to the cold wind we've gotten overnight. I'll continue to stay in here wrapped in my bathrobe and cozy blanket while sipping my morning coffee, thank you very much. After a tough Blue Jays loss (I'm still recovering...), evening zumba classes I've started taking (have you ever tried? What an intense workout!) and a mandatory tetanus shot I had to get in order to begin a volunteer position (more on that later..but my arm has been killing me since!), I'm more than content to just take it easy this weekend. For this post, I'd thought and share with you some of the annual fall colours we've gotten this year!
For the past few years, my friend Somya and I have driven out of the city to go on a fall trail and just admire the changing colours of the leaves (are we so old and lame? Please tell me you do this too...!) Two years ago, we went here to Forks of the Credit, as well as last year, but to a different part of the country side. Last weekend, we changed things up a bit and drove to the Credit Valley Conservation in Mississauga.
So here's a fun-fact story for you: this (bottom) photo may look all nice and whatever. I had to walk through a small patch of long grass to get this angle. Long story short: I somehow stepped into a feces of some sort and didn't notice until we got back into Somya's car. Thank GOODNESS we were leaving anyway but omg, I about wanted to cry while Somya laughed the whole way home (with the windows rolled down all the way). My shoes are still airing out on the front porch.
^ Sure, I'm all smiles now...
Besides that little mishap, I'm happy we got to go out and see some of the fall colours again.
How do you celebrate fall? I wish you all a cozy weekend! :)
