Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!! I know I say this every year, but I seriously cannot comprehend the fact that tomorrow is Christmas. Am I alone in thinking this?? I don't know if it's because it falls on a weekend this year...but for me, I've just been working straight through these past couple of weeks, that it almost felt like I was sleep-walking. In fact, here's an image that's summed up a lot of my evenings after work lately:
LOL. Between long working days, running around on my lunch breaks, volunteering, squeezing in workouts, and recovering after a Christmas or birthday party, a lotta days I just wanted to come home, curl up in my bathrobe, and cuddle up with a cat. It unfortunately pushed back my blogging routine a little bit. But now it's the holidays and there's some well-deserved time off. I hope you enjoy these Christmas and wintery photos I've managed to capture in the last few weeks :)
Wednesday officially marked the first day of winter (*sigh*) but here in Ontario, it arrived much earlier than usual! Last year, we got quite lucky with a mild winter but this year, we'll probably be making up for it.
Even though work's been quite steady lately, it was still nice coming into the building every day and seeing the place decorated up a bit for the season.
I even spruced up my little table slightly, with some garland and a mini, glowing tree from Shopper's Drugmart.
For the past couple of years, my dad has always picked up a little elf tree for the basement. It's definitely a cute touch, and the cats always seem to enjoy it.
In fact, they seem to enjoy our faux tree on the main floor too. It must remind them of the outdoors a little bit, and we think they like the glow of the lights as well.
This year, my dad also picked up something a little extra: a classic Charlie Brown tree! He found it on discount at Home Depot and of course, he couldn't resist it. It plays the Charlie Brown theme song as well!
And here's a few more images:
Watching SNL Christmas classics and baked cookies at Brian's house (by his parents, not us!)
Candy cane hot chocolate from Second Cup.
Some Christmas earrings from H&M.
A Chicken Soup book of short, Christmas stories I picked up at the beginning of the month.
And this is the current scene in my room (These will obviously be put under the tree later today ;)
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones!!!
