Last week I finally got around to putting up some fall decoration in my bedroom. I waited a little longer than normal this year because it still felt like summer outside for awhile! We finally have that chill in the air and the leaves are gradually changing colours. It was time to dig out all our autumn dollar store finds!
For any of my room decorations, I usually stick to a similar pattern around the shabby table: themed-garland around the bulletin board, swapping out the usual faux flowers for a different colour scheme, and adding a seasonal scented candle.
The TV area always looks so grey with electrical wires everywhere so I try and add something subtle for a pop colour, like this simple little pumpkin on top of the DVD player.
Like last year, I added the $3 orange throw blanket to the end of my bed (it's been good timing, as I always come home feeling a little chiller in the evenings and cuddle up under it!)
I also mentioned last year how I'd been keeping an eye out for a decently-priced fall pillow (Pottery Barn had beautiful ones, but way above my preferred budget!) This year, I finally lucked out: my favourite newest purchase this fall has been this gorgeous, watercolour pillow cover from the talented Lucy at Craftberry Bush.
A few weeks ago she had a sale going on in her online shop, with free worldwide shipping for the weekend! Right away, I made a beeline for a pumpkin-themed pillow and even picked one up for Christmas time. Be sure to visit her to see when the next sale is!
The usual faux leaves scattered around my beach painting.
My dresser took a similar look this year too: some leaves around the mirror and a burlap flowers bunch.
Remember my beloved pumpkin dish I picked up from Crate and Barrel? It took a spot on the far table.
You can bet I'll soon be filling it up with some treats, including my favourite candy pumpkin!
And my door remained simple this year, too. I kept the decorative hat from my grandma and just put a fall wreath around the rim.
I've had this 'Pumpkin Pecan Waffles' hand cream from Bath and Body Works for nearly three years now and it's still going strong! I keep it on my desk and usually put a dab on before heading out the door for work.
And there you have it! I'm sure in a few days or so, my mom will be putting a few things out on the front porch just in time for Thanksgiving, and I gotta make sure to pick up a pumpkin before then ;) Be sure to check out past year's Fall decoration here.
