Happy relaxing Sunday! I'm sitting here wrapped in a blanket and just enjoying my morning coffee. These are the things I love to take advantage of on the weekends. Today I thought I'd share with you some Winter-theme décor I put up in my room and a little around our home. With the holidays over and the tree and tinsel put away, it was onto the next holiday / season and well, that just means winter around here (until Valentine's Day, at least!)
One thing I learned from previous years was as soon as Christmas is over, stores start getting out their Valentine's Day and even spring gear! Any hopes for "winter" decoration I wanted to add, was lost (unless you went to a Christmas discount section!) So this year, I managed to stock up on a few things I thought would be appropriate for winter, like snowflakes and a few snowmen here and there.
I love the idea of blue and white colours for the winter season, so when I saw this snowflake felt garland, I knew it would be perfect to put around the bulletain board.
Dollarama also had this little frosty white tree made out of plastic. It reminded me of a quiet, snowy forest you'd walk into one day for a winter hike!
The top of the TV got some cute little snowmen, too! One is solar-paneled (it bops its head in the sunlight!) and the other is made from felt with a little space in the middle to store some treats.
My bedroom door got a giant white snowflake. I think it looks great against the wood, but I really wish I waited a bit and splurged for the "cushioney" snowflakes that came afterwards! - they were a softer material and made to sit nicely against a wall or door without the noise of rattling. So I ended up taping it a bit in place. There's always next year!
I'm also currently waiting on this winter sparrow throw pillow case from Craftberry Bush.
I've just grown to love her throw pillows and designs so much, and whenever there's a sale going on (which is every few weeks!), I make sure to splurge for a few items. I also keep in mind that these pillow cases will be great to take along when Brian and I are ready to move in together.
I clearly get my love of decorating for any season or occasion from my mom: she also snatched up a few snowmen from the store and put one in our kitchen and a few on our front porch.
And I couldn't resist this pretty blue and white mug for the season as well! It was sold during Christmas time, but I picked it up to keep throughout the winter. Warm coffee or tea is sure to keep me nice and warm!
Hope everyone has a nice, relaxing Sunday! :)
