It's the Family Day long weekend here in Canada and just in time, temperatures have shot up! When you step outside, you can practically smell the sweet scent of Spring. Now, whether this will last or not is a whole other question! But with this small break of snow and chilly winds, Brian and I decided to do something yesterday that we haven't done since July - we headed down to the Lakeshore and took a walk along the trail, just like old times.
If you've followed along the blog, you'll remember "our" beloved Lakeshore house: a home my parents used to rent out for years and finally sold last summer. In the months leading up to the sale, the house remained empty as my parents continued to renovate and get everything ready, so they offered the house to Brian and I in the meantime to "stay" in as long as we pleased. The experience and memories we shared at that house were such a treasure to us, and so many times now Brian and I say to each other, "Do you remember that time at the Lakeshore House?" It was a real treat heading back down there yesterday and reliving some of those sweet memories.
And of course, we couldn't head back down there without scoping out the ol' house.
These were the closest kind of photographs I could get without looking like a total creep! We didn't really notice any people around, save for the jeep in the driveway, but in any case we didn't wanna take a chance!
The lakeshore will always continue to hold a special place in our hearts, and Brian and I take comfort in knowing that if we wanted to go for a quick drive, we can head down there no problem, grab a bite to eat, and take a walk along the shoreline.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! :)
