Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is staying warm today. These past few days have been FREEZING over here! Spring cannot come soon enough. To add a little green shimmer into your perhaps dreary day, today I'll share with you some of our St. Patrick's Day decoration my mom and I have put up around our house. It just goes to show that you don't need to be Irish to celebrate this fun holiday! (for the record, we're of Italian background).
^ Instead of our usual shamrocks for the front door, this year my mom found these funny-looking leprechauns from Dollar Tree.
The living room was kept simple, with some green garland, a festive centerpiece, and a single shamrock hanging in the middle:
And this little guy hanging by the windows in the kitchen, along with our shamrock plant I pick up from the grocery store every year for just $2.99!
And my bedroom in all it's St. Paddy's Day glory: The bulletin board got a felt-linked garland around it (much like the one from Valentine's Day in previous years), a little green Beanie Baby bear sitting in a small, green tin, and the amazing smell of Yankee Candle's Lucky Shamrock, which I had burning the other night.
Probably my favourite newst touch of decor has been my shamrock-patterned pillow case. I ordered it from Amazon not too long ago and am so pleased with it!
Even my car got a little "whiff" of St. Patrick's Day fun, with this green apple-scented leprechaun mobile. I picked this up a few months back from a place called A Bit of Home.
Ever year, I always try to change up my St. Paddy's Day "look" so I couldn't resist this cute, little headband when I saw it in the dollar store the other day.
And just as a little treat last night, I picked up some cupcakes from the grocery store that came with non-edible St. Patrick's Day plastic rings. They're obviously much too small for me, but I brought this little clover to work and placed it on my desk for fun (and the cupcake was delicious!) You'll notice a bit I painted my nails a light mint colour, too.
It looks like I'm just about ready for the big day! Bring on the green beer! :)
