Lately I've been in a "Lauren Conrad" kinda mood: I've been re-watching my Hills DVDs after work, researching styles of LC herself, and laurenconrad.com has been my new go-to website. Could it possibly be a bit of spring fever? The longer days of sunlight give me more energy to catch up on old shows (like the Hills) and the lighter temperatures inspire me to live out my inner California girl. Some kinda weird coin-ci-dink going on here! I received Lauren Conrad Celebrate as a gift last year and read through it last summer, absolutely loving it. With warmer temperatures again last weekend, I couldn't help going through the book again as I sat out in our backyard, admiring the beautiful, feminine photographs and party ideas this book has to offer. This evening on the blog, I decided to give you guys a little sneak peak!:
Like the title says, this book is all about celebrating those special moments that make life great: from weddings, to housewarming parties, to simpler brunch dates (or clambakes in California!) to a classic birthday party or holiday get-together. This book has it all! I'll completely admit: some of the info in here is common sense (ie. don't invite yourself and another to something you weren't invited to!...RSVP within a reasonable time...send out thank you cards within an etiquette time frame, etc.) and other ideas are quite helpful (what are some things you can wear to a bridal shower? What are some good ideas for floral arrangements? To hand out treat bags or not?!) Lauren also shares a few of her own personal stories, like what celebrating an event meant to her growing up and what she did to prepare for her bachelorette party. Anyone who was a fan of the Hills or Lauren Conrad's style will really appreciate this classy coffee table book.
I think flipping through a beautiful book like this one just further excites myself for all the parties I can't wait to throw in the future. I've always loved a good party and hosting is one of my most favourite things. Now if I can just get myself a kitchen so I can cook up some good meals for everyone ;-)
