Happy Friday!! :) I'm not sure where everyone lives, but here in Ontario, it's going to be a hot one today. These past few weeks have been nothing but rain, rain, and more rain. Seriously, you woulda thought it was April! And now out of no where, we have 30-degree weather coming our way. Time to bust out the denim shorts, long flowy skirts, and plenty of sunscreen. Summer is almost here!
It's been awhile since I did a little "life update" with photographs. Alright, mostly this is just an excuse to post the endless photos from my phone and make a blog post out of them. Fair enough? :) I hope you enjoy the sunny pictures!
On Sunday evenings, Brian and I enjoy going for walks around the neighbourhood and then do some grocery shopping for the week afterwards. How "grown-up" are we ;) We've had some nice, breezy weather lately, and it's always good to get out for some fresh air.
^ We really love this corner house! The colours and style remind me of a nice beach home.
Speaking of birthdays, I was in Hallmark the other day and this "30" photo frame caught my eye. It literally makes my head spin when I think I've got less than a year to go till I hit the big 3-0 (shouldn't I be married, owning a house, and having several kids by now??)
Last week, some family and our cousins got together to mark the one year passing of my grandfather. Despite it being under sadder circumstances, it was a great excuse to get everyone together for some appetizers. It also reminded us that we still all had each other we could lean on in difficult times.
More Time at the Animal Shelter
This time of year is usually crazy for students, so I'm helping out a little bit more at the Humane Society when I can. Not that I mind too much. Keep scrolling to see the cuteness!:
Afternoon at the Lakeshore
The city was blessed with some beautiful, pleasant weather last weekend: sunny, clear skies and a refreshing breeze. With that, we headed down to our beloved Lakeshore and took a walk among the trails. Of course we stopped and looked at the ol' house, too! It was a very relaxing afternoon and further rejuvenated our love to be by the water (what is it about bodies of water that soothe the soul??)
What I'm Loving Lately
Okay, and I have to briefly share this with you guys! Brian just showed me this computer game the other weekend, "Emily Is Away." It takes place in 2002-2006, all over old AIM. You play a high school/college guy who is basically trying to get with this girl, Emily through instant messaging. It might sound ridiculous but if you grew up chatting on AOL or MSN, I promise you'll be able to relate to this game! My sister just started playing it too and she completely got a kick out of it (we are not big gamers at all, but this one is so easy to get into 'cause it feels real!) Give it a try if you can! emilyisaway.com. A second one, "Emily Is Away Too" just came out a few weeks ago!
I've also been watching this hilarious play-by-play of the game. It's a bit long, but if you wanna get an idea of the game or just relive the old days of instant messaging from a funny point of view, give this a bit of a watch :)
After a busy week, I'm about ready to snooze down for a little cat-nap like Cartney!
