It's the Civic long weekend here in Canada. Normally that means going away to the cottage for a few days or doing a barbeque with friends at some point. All fun, classic summer stuff! This year though, Brian and I decided to go up to Niagara for a couple of nights (photos to come!) and last night, my mom asked me to go on a walk with her to my grandmother's place for a bit.
It was a very nice evening. The temperature was very comfortable and I felt so relaxed. It's actually quite rare that my mom and I take walks together so it was a nice change of things and of course, it's always nice seeing "Ma", my grandma.
We sat out on the porch and my mom made some veggie soup for us. It felt nice to have a relaxed evening with some loved ones for a change and getting to bed feeling refreshed knowing I could sleep in the next day. If this is what the "next phase" of life looks like more rather than later nights of drinks, I could definitely get used to it!
