Happy Tuesday, everybody! :)** Edited: I just realized this is my 100th post! Time really does fly when you're having fun! I just wanted to say a big thank you again to all my fellow readers and followers!
I had quite the eventful weekend -- maybe a bit more than I had bargained for?
On Saturday morning, Brian and I along with some friends were planning on going down to the Toronto Eaton Centre for the Blue Jays' autograph session that was taking place from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. We thought if we got down there for 9:00 am, we'd have a decent place in the lineup but we were quite wrong! It turned out, they had closed down the line sometime before 8 o'clock. I had read some people had lined up there at 4:30 in the morning!
Upstairs by the balconies was a much better view.
I was still so excited to see them! From left: Todd Redmond, Aaron Loup, RA Dickey, Jose Bautista and Dalton Pompey.
Since we were downtown, we decided to take advantage and walk around and do some sight-seeing / shopping. We went into Chapters Indigo where they had a beautiful assortment of spring displays and decor:
I absolutely love these decorative watering cans with the deer antler and floral design!:
Mason jars - the "in" thing now:
One of my favourite Indigo shopping indulgences - their ceramic mugs!:
I just love the sayings they have on some of them, like "Do What You Love", "Be Awesome Today" and "Is It Friday Yet?":
They also have a beautiful new Kate Spade selection.
And some Valentine's Day goodies:
Afterwards, we walked over to the home decor department store, Homesense. If I wasn't already excited to decorate my own place one day, I was even more so now! Absolutely beautiful ideas and decorative storage units for a home.
And then we made our way to the record store on University and Queen called Kops Records. It's a tiny but very interesting little vintage shop.
After a long, busy day, I was looking forward to a nice, cozy night in-- but that didn't quite happen: our block had lost power for 26 and a half hours that night!
The power had gone off at 9:30 that morning and we were told it would come back on at 8:00 pm, then it got pushed to 12:00 midnight and then it got pushed to 3:00 am. It didn't actually come back till just before noon the next day!
I was more concerned about our cats! I wrapped them up in blankets and tried to keep them as warm as possible. In all honesty, they seemed just fine.
I was the one who was more of a "baby" lol, I don't deal with the cold quite so well so I had to stay wrapped up in blankets and layers at all times. We were not happy campers, but we tried to make the most of it. My mom was nice enough to make an emergency Tim Hortons run, bringing back some warm coffee and chicken noodle soup as I watched Legally Blonde on my laptop by candlelight.
And then hey, we huddled back at our place with some battery-operated lights, music from our phones and had a glass of wine.
Check out this scary shadow from one of the lights on our ceiling!
We were all quite happy when the power finally came on the next day though ;)
Even though I just did a Bedroom Tour post, there's a few other little things I've been adjusting around in my room (such as my stuffed animals, for instance...). I'll post the updates once everything is complete! It might take some time while I wait for things to arrive.
Hope everyone is staying warm! :)
