Happy Friday!! :)
If anyone's living in the Ontario region, do stay warm! There's an icy, chilly wind out there that burns against your face (I know, what else is new, right).
I thought I'd use this post to update with some pictures from my past week, so here we go!
Last Friday night, I went out with the girls! It had been awhile since we'd all gone out together so it was definitely overdue -- and my body felt it the next day too *cue the little hangover?* And to think we used to do this every weekend when we first reached the legal drinking age! We have so much fun when we go out but with working full-time and "age", it takes a lot out on my body if I have one too many drinks. Luckily, I always prepare a little "attack soon" before hand (as Brian calls it) which I'll be posting on the blog soon!
How lovely is my friend's condo? I can only dream...
Over the weekend, my Nonna came over for a Sunday dinner and brought some old photographs from back in her day. She brought ones of her and my grandfather with my mini dad, her wedding day, and her father when he was in the war.
How cool is that! I absolutely love the style of old photographs. Even just by looking at them and feeling the different material of the photo, you can just envision the history of that time period in your hands. There's something just so enchanting about it!
As you may (or may not!) have noticed by now -- I got my own domain for the blog! Cozy Lor became Lovely and Cozy. I was doing lots of research and "maintenance" this week to try and improve it. There's still lots I wanna focus on but it's definitely a start.
Quiet, Sunny Home
Two things I love: 1) an empty, quiet house during the day and 2) glorious sunshine. When the cats are taking their afternoon nap, it's when I feel the most calm. I love having the jazz station turned on low in the background and reading a good book with an afternoon coffee or tea. These are the kinds of things I dream about when I (hopefully soon!) one day move out in to my own place.
View from my bed on a peaceful, sunny morning:
Before my TV got fixed and placed back, this table was my little "zen" area with the humidifier and plant I got the other week at Canadian Tire.
Blogging away (in the dining room) in my comfy Nordstrom bathrobe -- and Cartney tagging along. The dining room has always been my favourite place for computer use.
The kitchen looking lovely with the morning sunshine.
Cartney enjoying the peacefulness of all of it, too.
Well really, all the cats love this little spot by the window. It was our "attempt" at making a small window seat for them so they can stare out at squirrels and birds. (If you wanna see a legit homemade window seat, complete with a handy storage area, check out Amanda's she put together on her blog for her two dogs; it's amazing!).
We still had our Christmas decoration up when this was taken -- but here's the hallway from the view of the dining room.
And from the other side (when standing in the living room).
One day soon, more photos like these will be added to the Humble Abode tab.
Dreaming of Sweets and Valentine's Festivities
When I got to work the other day, someone had brought these and left them sitting on the counter: Brownie Crunch and some cinnamon candies! Yum!
The cinnamon candies got me thinking that Valetnine's Day is just around the corner, and that I should start brainstorming some ideas for a craft and goodies. Any reason to decorate and celebrate for a holiday, I'll take!
I hope you all have a nice, relaxing weekend! Is anyone psyched for the Super Bowl?! ;)
It will be the: New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks!
