Happy cozy Sunday! I normally save my posts for during the week, but since I missed my regular Happy Friday post last week, I decided to post a little something now. So, here you are!:
In the last few months, I've really been envisioning myself living out on my own. I've lived at home my whole life (even while I was in school!) and even though there's definitely perks to it, I cannot wait to have a place of my own. I've always loved the look and feel of smaller, cozier apartments and for fun, I was researching some photos. It got me all excited for the future that I decided to share my favourites with you!
A fireplace isn't mandatory, but I just loved the carpeting, the comfy-looking cushions, warm colours, and the windows letting in lots of natural light.
Look familiar? You got it! - it's Meg Ryan's cozy apartment in You've Got Mail. This luxury little place is one of my favourite things about the film and even though I don't even need all this space for now, I can't help but love it! She's got a window seat, plush beds, and stacks of bookshelves that make this Upper West Side apartment such a charm.
I love the layout, the subtle furniture, and - you guessed it - the natural light! - in the below picture.
As well as this one (the black couch makes it look so rich!):
This one reminds me a bit of a loft, but again, I love the layout and having a small, little balcony is always a plus.
When Amanda lived at her first little apartment in Toronto a few years ago, she did it up so nicely on a reasonable budget that you couldn't help but love what she did with the place. I mean, I would absolutely love that futon! It just goes to show that you don't need to spend a lot to make a place homey and inviting. I often go back to her apartment posts for some tips and ideas.
I always loved the snug apartment in the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street.
Our friend, Courtney has lived in two very cozy condos that I've absolutely adored. She lives on her own (with an adorable little kitty-cat!) and they've been the perfect size and amount of coziness for her. This was her first place:
And this is her current place:
Possibly my favourite small, cozy apartment is at our friend, Elisa's place.
The location is somewhere Brian and I would love to live in the future, it's an ideal size, and she has a great, spacious balcony with a beautiful view:
I can't wait till it's my turn!
What's your ideal kinda home?
